About me

Originally training in woven textiles and dance I started my journey in mental health and social care by working in children's homes and foster care. It was then I began to explore the power of Art Therapy. I completed my Art Psychotherapy Master’s Degree in London over 10 years ago and have since continued my professional training with a number of further qualifications. I work with adults and children in all settings with a variety of mediums including paint, clay, collage and sand. I also incorporate dance, play, drama and music.

What is art therapy?

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art media as its primary mode of expression and communication. Within this context, art is not used as diagnostic tool but as a medium to address emotional issues which may be confusing and distressing.

Art therapy is provided in groups or individually, depending on a persons needs. It is not a recreational activity or an art lesson, although the sessions can be enjoyable. Clients do not need to have any previous experience or expertise in art
